A Few Members of The Florida Orchestra, 2012
I don't remember the circumstances here. Normally, cameras
are not allowed at their concerts; perhaps it was a rehearsal. I had
been hired to photograph one of their rehearsals at a later date, but for reasons I can't explain, I had to cancel my fulfilling the assign-
ment. I did do a photo session with Alison Heydt, a violist with TFO (See bottom of page). My buddy, John DiMura (see Carrasco), used to give me tickets to the orchestra. So did oboe player Lane Lederer. We played in the Eau Gallie High School Band together when I was in ninth grade. He was also in a famous rock band somewhere along the way, Pearls Before Swine. My daughter couldn't believe it when she found out I knew Lane. And my jaw dropped when she told me they were one of her favorite bands. She went to school in Athens, GA, so I imagine that's where she found out about that group. They were way before her time.
But I digress. Thanks to their generosity, I have enjoyed many wonderful concerts by world-class musicians. When the orchestra was
first formed, many of my teachers from USF were principal players.

is the Principal Bass in TFO.
I've never met him, so I doubt
he's ever seen these photos
I did of him. I love the b&w here.
is the Principal Trumpet in TFO.
I've not been introduced to him, but I have known his wife, Laura, for a very long time. I played at a Bahá’í wedding
with her many
years ago. She playes cello in TFO. She also played a cello part for me on Ascension, one of my early pieces, track 4 on my Sketches 1984 tape.
John DiMura is a bassist in TFO.
We go back a ways. We played in Carrasco together. He's been a good friend through the years. He bought my Ovation classical
from me when I was going through that financial nightmare, and I found it on the wall at a Guitar Center two years later and bought it back
John Bannon is principal timpanist in TFO. I've not met him, but I've heard him play several times.
By the way, I had great difficulty playing the timpani. I just couldn't seem to hear it to tune it
properly. I could do the rolls though. It appears that
Mr. Bannon is a conductor as well.
Alison Heydt plays the viola in TFO and has great hair. She asked me to photograph a
Florida Orchestra rehearsal, which I was excited and a little nervous about, but I had
to cancel that. I always wonder what would have transpired if I had done that.
The photoshoot was done at the courtyard at Christ Methodist church. I also
photographed Ennis and
Alan Reid / Rob Van Sante
there.
